The founder of the Silverbird Entertainment Group, Ben Murray-Bruce, who is also the lawmaker representing Bayelsa East in the Senate, has fulfilled part of his pledge to adopt one child from Bayelsa and another child from the North.
It would be recalled that when author and TV host, Reno Omokri, dedicated an orphanage he built in honour of his late Itsekiri born mother in Benin city, Edo state, the Senator had pledged to adopt 2 child and train them up to university level. Ben Murray-Bruce’s adopted son is named Goodluck Alaowei, and hails from Bayelsa where the Senator is from.
Ben Murray-Bruce, a noted philanthropist, has also sponsored a Women Infants and Children Bill in the Senate to compel states and local government to give at least one protein rich meal a day to pregnant and nursing mothers and their infant children.
Reno Omokri, a pastor, built the orphanage in memory of his late mother and namesake Helen Bemigho Igbene, who died 12 years ago on March 17th, 2004. It was dedicated on Sunday the 21st of February, 2016 in a ceremony witnessed by friends and family.
