My Violent Ex-boyfriend Won’t Let Me Go – Woman Cries Out
A woman who has been assaulted, intimidated and threatened by her ex-boyfriend has suddenly cried out for help.
A decision to end their affair with her lover proved costly to a city woman, who was allegedly physically abused by her ex-lover. Edith Chingando accused her former lover of abuse saying the abrupt ending of their relationship did not go down well with him.
“Leonard Jonasi was my boyfriend. The relationship was no longer interesting and I decided to end things between us. However, he was angry with me and has since taken to abusing me.
“He has been coming to my house acting violently. He sometimes beats me up. He is always insulting me. If I meet him in the streets he shouts at me. He uses obscene language and this attracts people’s attention.
“I am no longer comfortable walking in the streets because of his behaviour. He is even disrupting me studies as he is following at school where I am taking Mathematics lessons. I do not want to have anything to do with him and he should stop following me around as if he owns me,” complained Edith.
Leonard did not attend court proceedings to defend himself.
Magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi granted the protection order in Edith’s favour.
