Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) Divisional Court Martial has sentenced nine serving soldiers to prison for selling fuel and military supplies on black market. The nine who are part of the 18 soldiers arraigned two weeks ago, were found guilty of pursuing personal interest and endangering operational efficiency of the UPDF and were handed sentences ranging from
one year to three years.
Three of the soldiers, in addition to imprisonment, have been dismissed with disgrace from the army meaning they will leave the army without any benefits.
