10 year old child labourer dies after adult worker pushed air compressor into his rectum

A 10-year-old child labourer, Sagar Barman, who worked at a textile factory in Rupganj, Bangladesh died after his adult colleagues pushed an air compressor into his anus, according to reports. The little boy was rushed to a hospital by his own father after the father learned of the horrible assault perpetuated on his son.

Ratan barman, who also worked at the family, was told that someone was attacking his son and ran to find the boy with a bloated stomach and rushed him to the hospital.

A doctor at Dhaka Medical College Hospital said the child may have died because of air inserted through the rectum.

Dr Firoz Ahmed told the Dhaka Tribune:

"We will be able to give you details after the autopsy. The body has been sent to the morgue."

Sub Inspector Tanvir Hossain of the Rupganj Police Station said:

"We spoke to the workers but could not get any names. The family is in Dhaka Medical and we are in contact with them. Details will be learned after a case is filed," he said.
