Congregants left in shock as woman dies during deliverance at church service. Photo

A 46-year-old Zimbabwean woman, Pedzai Muyambo, left the congregants in shock last Sunday, when she collapsed and died during deliverance time at Prophet Adventure Mutepfa’s Revival Centre Church’s Dangamvura assembly, in Zimbabwe.
According to reports, a member of the Church, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Pedzai had collapsed during deliverance time at around 3pm, but no-one realised it, until after two hours, when the woman was still motionless on the floor:

“It is normal in our church to fall down during worship or deliverance service. She fell down and everyone thought it was the Holy Spirit working on her. It was until 5pm when someone alerted the church authorities that Sister Pedzai was still lying motionless on the ground. They tried to deliver her because they thought she was possessed by evil spirits, but all their efforts were in vain. She never moved an inch. That is when she was rushed to hospital and was pronounced dead upon arrival. It is a sad thing and we are still shocked,” she said.
Meanwhile, an interview was held on Monday with one of the church’s youthful pastors, David Waerera; who had rushed Pedzai to hospital after the incident. The young pastor dismissed claims that the deceased died in the church premises but at the hospital, pointing that she did not fall during church service, or inside the church building, but was after service when people had gone that she was carried back into the church in an unconscious state.
David said:
“We quickly rushed her to hospital, but it took us 45 minutes for her to be attended to by a doctor. Finally, when the doctor came to examine her, she was pronounced dead".
Pedzai’s family, however, has dismissed claims that their daughter’s death is a mysterious one that should be probed. Pedzar’s father, Mr Muyambo, said he was devastated by the death of his daughter, but his family has agreed to wave postmortem. (An examination of a dead body to determine the cause of death). He argued that it was a natural death which only God would explain.

Muyambo admitted his daughter was not ill when she left home for service that Sunday, but what ever happened occurred during the service:
“I heard that they were seated on one bench with someone else and when the prophet walked past them, the other person fell because of the power of the Holy Spirit. Pedzai later fell down because the bench tilted as it was no longer balanced. That is all I heard from someone who was at the church with her,” Muyambo said.
Muyambo added that he would not want to part with any more information, as that in itself, would tarnish the good prophet’s name.
