Chai! For Faking His WAEC Results, Checkout What Happened to a Man in Lagos

A man who dared to fake his WAEC results in Lagos, has ended up getting in much more trouble than he bargained for.

The man identified as one Owoyele Kolawole, has been arragned in court.

My Kolawole was arraigned in court by the the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for alleged forgery.

The man was arrested for allegedly faking and being in possession of blank senior secondary school certificates.

According to Premium Times, he was arraigned on a two-count charge before Justice S. Adepoju of the Federal Capital Territory High Court.

The ICPC said Mr. Kolawole made false West African Senior School Certificates with no student information on it, with the intention that it may be filled with student information later which may be acted upon as genuine.

A statement for the commission, Rasheedat Okoduwa, said the arrest followed a petition from the federal Ministry of Education on the growing incidence of altered West African Senior School Certificate results presented for accreditation and endorsement by those seeking admission into foreign educational institutions.

The suspect allegedly ran a syndicate that specialised in producing and selling customised certificates to fraudulent applicants seeking admission into foreign institutions.

The statement added that at the time of his arrest, Mr. Kolawole was in possession of blank certificates.

According to the statement, Mr. Kolawole operated a criminal scheme where the particulars from a genuine certificate would be transferred to a blank copy with alteration in either the grades or age or both, depending on what the client desired.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.

He was however remanded in prison custody while the case was adjourned to 24th November.
