Facebook Aims For Video-loving Teenagers With New App

image

Facebook on Friday took direct aim at video-loving adolescents, and Snapchat, with the release of a new iPhone app that allows teens to watch clips about the lives of their classmates.
The app, called Lifestage, was released with no fanfare, and is available for anyone to download on iPhone, although seeing profiles of other users is reserved for those 21 years of age or younger.
The social network allows users to make
video clips to describe likes, peeves, dance styles, and other aspects of their character.
Those clips are woven together to serve as public profiles that can be viewed by other Lifestage members, provided they are young enough.
A tool in the app lets users block and report older folks.
“Lifestage makes it easy and fun to share a visual profile of who you are with your school network,” the app’s iTunes store description says.
Once enough students at any given school are on the app, it becomes “unlocked.”
“Once your school is unlocked, you can access the profiles of others in your school community (and all over!) so you can get to know people better in your school and nearby schools,” the description said.
Lifestage users are invited to share video snippets whenever they wish.
The app comes as a challenge to Snapchat, the vanishing message service that became a hit with teenagers and which lets members share pictures and video clips.
Lifestage was seen by some as an effort by Facebook to stay connected to young internet users disinclined to take part in the leading social network.
Facebook did not return an AFP request for comment.
Earlier this month, Instagram put its own spin on a key Snapchat feature by letting users post “Stories” that eventually vanish from the Facebook-owned photo-and video-sharing app.
Instagram Stories encourages people to share ephemeral collages of everyday moments on the app which has built a reputation for allowing people to post highlights from their lives or artistic works.

11 Reasons You Might Miss Your Period

It's easy to jump to conclusions when you realize your period is late. If you're trying to conceive, you may feel excitement and a sense of disbelief. If you're not, you might feel fear or disappointment, not to mention utter confusion if you know there's no way you could be pregnant. The fact is, though most people automatically think of pregnancy anytime a period is late, it could be that — or one of many other possibilities. Here's a rundown of the common reasons for a
missed period.
In This Article:
  • Pregnancy
  • Stress
  • Illness
  • Weight
  • Excessive exercise
  • Change in schedule
  • Breastfeeding
  • Medication
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Thyroid disorder
  • Perimenopause

Pregnancy

Sometimes a late period means exactly what you think: There's a little bun in the oven! Because early pregnancy symptoms like abdominal cramping, bloating and breast tenderness are similar to what you may experience in the days before menstruation, it can be difficult to tell if your period is simply off by a few days or you're pregnant. If your period is late and you've had unprotected sex, take a home pregnancy test. A week after the date you expected your period gives the most accurate results, but many home test manufacturers promise to detect human chorionic gonadotropin (better known as hCG, the hormone released during pregnancy) sooner.

Stress

You already know stress can have a number of unpleasant effects, like headaches, weight gain, acne and other skin issues — and it can also affect your period. When you're under physical or emotional stress, your body produces the stress hormones adrenaline and cortisol. Elevated levels force the brain to decide which bodily functions are essential and which are nonessential until the stressful event is over. Things like blood flow to the muscles and oxygen to the lungs increase (part of the “fight-or-flight” response you've likely heard of), while others, like digestion and the reproductive system, may stop temporarily in extreme cases. When the reproductive cycle is delayed, so is your period.

Illness

Think back to the time you should have ovulated. If you were sick, whether with a simple cold or something more serious, the stress could have put your body into that “which function is most important” phase mentioned above. So ovulation could have been delayed or didn't happen. That means your period will also be late or nonexistent. If illness around the time of ovulation caused your skipped period, Aunt Flo' will likely return once things are back to normal.

Weight

Your weight can affect your hypothalamus, a gland in your brain responsible for regulating various processes in the body — including your menstrual cycle. Extreme weight loss, a low caloric intake or being very underweight stresses the hypothalamus, and your body won't release the estrogen needed to build the lining of the uterus. The same happens with eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia, which also cause estrogen levels to dip too low. On the other hand, being overweight or gaining a lot in a short amount of time can cause your body to produce too much estrogen. The overload may cause you to go for months without ovulating or cause the endometrial lining to overgrow and become unstable, resulting in heavy, irregular periods. Usually, gaining weight if you're underweight or losing if you're overweight should help your periods to return to normal.

Excessive exercise

Of course working out is good for you. However, when you overdo it (and possibly also restrict meals to lose weight), your body doesn't produce enough estrogen to complete the menstrual cycle. Some women — such as ballet dancers, gymnasts and professional athletes — are at greater risk for amenorrhea (missing a period for three or more months in a row). But you don't have to be a pro for exercise to mess with your periods. Working out excessively without taking in enough calories can cause disruptions. Some signs that you're overdoing it include extreme or rapid weight loss; decreased physical performance; or forcing yourself to work out through injury, illness or severe weather. Slowing down a bit and, if you need to, gaining a little weight should get things back on track.

Change in schedule

Believe it or not, switching things up — for instance, working the night shift instead of the day or vice versa, or travelling across the country — can throw off your body clock, which regulates your hormones (including those responsible for your period). Sometimes this results in a missed or delayed period, but it should return when your body gets used to the change or your schedule goes back to normal.

Breastfeeding

If you're breastfeeding you may not see your period for some time, since prolactin — the hormone responsible for breast milk production — also suppresses ovulation. Many moms don't have a period for months (or at all) while breastfeeding. But lack of a period doesn't mean you can't get pregnant. Remember, ovulation occurs before you get your period. It's possible for you to ovulate and then get pregnant before you ever see your period. So if you don't want back-to-back babies, use protection. Your period should return within about six to eight weeks after weaning your child. If you haven't gotten a period three months after you stop breastfeeding, talk to your doctor.

Medication

Probably the most common medication to cause menstrual changes is birth control. Hormonal contraceptives such as the pill or patch work by stopping the body from ovulating — and no ovulation means no period. But what about that monthly bleeding you have while using one of these methods? What you're really experiencing is withdrawal bleeding, a “fake” period caused by the drop in hormones when you take the placebo pills in your pack or go patch-free during the fourth week of your cycle. Sometimes, though, the birth control suppresses the hormones so much that you have very light bleeding or no period at all during that week off. And some pills are even designed to stop your period for a longer amount of time (three months or more). Other hormonal birth controls, such as the Depo-Provera shot or the Mirena IUD, thin the lining of the uterus to such a degree that there may be no lining to shed monthly as a period.
Emergency contraception, or the “morning after pill,” can also affect when you ovulate (or stop it altogether), so if you've taken it recently you may experience a late or skipped period (bring this up with your doctor).
Some other medications that can cause a delayed or missed period are antidepressants, some antipsychotics, corticosteroids and chemotherapy drugs.
If you've recently gone off the pill in the hopes of getting pregnant, you you may notice that it might take a month or so for your cycle to regulate itself — in which case a skipped period might just be your system is getting back on track. If you're not sure whether a missed period means you're expecting, visit your doctor.

Hormonal imbalance

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a condition where the female sex hormones are out of balance. It can cause cysts on the ovaries and prevent ovulation from occurring regularly. In addition to missed or irregular periods, PCOS can also cause excess hair growth, acne, weight gain and possibly infertility. Your doctor can do a blood test to check your hormone levels if you think PCOS may be the reason for your menstrual problems. If PCOS is the cause, your doctor may recommend birth control to regulate your periods.

Thyroid disorder

When the thyroid, the gland responsible for your body's metabolism, doesn't function properly, it can cause abnormal menstrual changes. An overactive thyroid (called hyperthyroidism) can cause periods to be lighter and less frequent; additional symptoms include weight loss, rapid heartbeat, increased sweating and trouble sleeping. An underactive thyroid (called hypothyroidism) may also cause periods to be less frequent but heavier; it may also cause weight gain, fatigue, dry skin and hair loss. A blood test can help your doctor determine if you have a thyroid disorder.

Perimenopause

The average age of menopause is 51. Anywhere from two to eight years before menopause, a woman experiences what's known as perimenopause, the period when the body gradually makes less estrogen and moves toward menopause. During this time, it's not uncommon to have changes in the menstrual cycle — periods may come more or less frequently, be shorter or longer, or be lighter or heavier. But you'll also likely experience hot flashes and night sweats, sleeping difficulties, vaginal dryness and mood swings. If you're concerned about your symptoms, your doctor can check your hormone levels with a blood test.
Though a missed period can be emotional, try not to jump to conclusions until you find out what's really going on. A visit to your doctor can help pinpoint the cause of your missed period, and if you're not pregnant, help get things back on track

Why Men Like Big B.utts – New Study Explains

Big B.utts are definitely in-thing, and now science might actually have an answer to why most guys canât help but drop their jaws when an incredibly shaped rear end comes bouncing on by.
Big B.utts
Men’s love of women with big backsides is quite a hot topic. Now, a new study has presented yet another explanation for why many men prefer women with large, curvy B.utts. The study found that evolution has preferred women with a spine curvature of 45 degrees because it allowed them to remain mobile throughout pregnancy without risk of injuring themselves.
Big B.utts Researchers
believe this finding may partially explain why the modern man remains so infatuated with the size of the backside of potential female partners. The curve at the bottom of a woman’s spine allows her to significantly shift weight, and without this ability, pregnant women would face a serious disadvantage.
According to the study, without a spine curvature of this degree the pressure on a woman’s hips during pregnancy would increase by 800 percent. This would cause her to not only become largely immobile, but also put her at risk for sustaining serious injury.
Lead researcher Dr. David Lewis, says it’s believed that our male ancestors developed a $exual attraction to women with big B.utts because it increased their chances of having offspring which would live long enough to pass on their DNA. It’s not just ancient men who show a preference for women with this build, however.
The team, based out of Bilkent University in Turkey, asked 300 men to look at silhouettes of women with many different angles of spine curvature.
Results showed that the majority of the men were significantly more attracted to silhouettes of women who had a spine curvature of 45.5 degrees, suggesting that this ancestral preference for spinal curvature has persisted. Lewis believes that his findings may offer an explanation into modern man’s love of round female B.utts.
“Men may be directing their attention to the backside and obtaining information about women’s spines, even if they are unaware that that is what their minds are doing,” the researcher explained, although this theory cannot be proven until future research is conducted.
This is not the first time science has attempted to find a reason for evolutionary preference of big-bottomed women. A 2014 study found that women with larger waist-to-hip ratios had higher levels of the hormone needed to get pregnant, and therefore possessed increased chances of fertility.
Another study found an association between large bottoms and intelligence, presenting evidence that women with a bigger difference between their hips and waist were not only more intelligent themselves, but also gave birth to more intelligent children. Ultimately, human attraction is a complicated topic, and what appeals to some does nothing for others.
However, when we find out the science behind our preferences, we can’t help but wonder if our “type” is really a personal choice or simply nature’s way of ensuring the advancement of mankind.

Unbelievable! Man Abandons Wife & Marries His Mother- In-Law After Falling In Love With Her (Photo)

A man has done the unthinkable by abandoning his wife and running off and marrying his mother-in-law after falling in love with her.
Suraj Mahto and the mother-in-law have now realized their stupidness
A man who shocked many in India by leaving his wife and marrying his mother-in-law has now realized his foolishness and filed for divorce.
The man identified as Suraj Mahto, 22, came to limelight after he abandoned his wife Lalita and married her mother, 42-year-old Asha Devi. According to reports, the unusual affair began when Mrs Devi came to stay with the couple in the village of Puraini in the impoverished state
of Bihar last year.
It was gathered that Devi looked after Mr Mahto when he became ill and they fell in forbidden love. After the mother-in-law returned home, he would call her and they would talk for hours on the phone and would also visit her at her home.
When Lalita found out about the affair she told her mother to stay away but she refused; even the girl’s father could not do anything to stop the forbidden affair.
Even though everyone in the village frowned at the forbidden love, the couple eloped and married on June 1 this year in nearby Dhamdaha. Two months on the couple have both realised they have made a crazy mistake.
The Gulf News reported that Mr Mahto said: ‘I have come to realise my folly now. I admit I have committed the mistake but will never repeat in future.

‘Now, I no longer treat her as my wife. Rather, I have started paying her regard as a mother.’
He said he would go on bended knee and beg Lalita to have him back. The couple have a son together.
Mrs Devi is also seeking to undo her actions.
She said of Mr Mahto: ‘No longer do I treat him as my husband but as a son-in-law. We have already a filed divorce petition in the court and I want to return to my husband as soon as possible.’

My Violent Ex-boyfriend Won’t Let Me Go – Woman Cries Out

A woman who has been assaulted, intimidated and threatened by her ex-boyfriend has suddenly cried out for help.
A decision to end their affair with her lover proved costly to a city woman, who was allegedly physically abused by her ex-lover. Edith Chingando accused her former lover of abuse saying the abrupt ending of their relationship did not go down well with him.

“Leonard Jonasi was my boyfriend. The relationship was no longer interesting and I decided to end things between us. However, he was angry with me and has since taken to abusing me.
“He has been coming to my house acting violently. He sometimes beats me up. He is always insulting me. If I meet him in the streets he shouts at me. He uses obscene language and this attracts people’s attention.
“I am no longer comfortable walking in the streets because of his behaviour. He is even disrupting me studies as he is following at school where I am taking Mathematics lessons. I do not want to have anything to do with him and he should stop following me around as if he owns me,” complained Edith.
Leonard did not attend court proceedings to defend himself.
Magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi granted the protection order in Edith’s favour.

Ryan Giggs Hails Paul Pogba’s ‘Brilliant, Brilliant Performance’ For Manchester United

image

Ryan Giggs believes Paul Pogba showed he is a player who “can do everything” after a superb debut against Southampton.
Zlatan IB.rahimovic overshadowed Pogba by scoring both goals in the 2-0 win at Old Trafford, but the France international put in an outstanding performance in the centre of the park on his debut after a world record £89.3 million move from Juventus.
“He’s a talent. You see the size of him and
the physicality of the Premier League won’t be a problem for him,” Giggs told Sky Sports. “We’ve come away from the idea of having two in midfield and letting them do everything — one sit and one go forward and vice-versa — and I think he can do that for United.
“He could be a Roy Keane, Bryan Robson or Steven Gerrard, someone who can do everything. We get too hung up on ‘he’s a sitting midfielder or he’s an attacking midfielder’ but why can’t a midfielder do everything? That’s what they’re supposed to do.
“You need intelligent players around you and you need to get the balance right. Sometimes you need players to fill in for you but I don’t see why he can’t do that.
“I think the biggest compliment I can give him is that I was watching that game and watching Paul Pogba and I wasn’t thinking of £89m.
“I was just thinking of a player enjoying himself and trying things and expressing himself and as the game went on, yes sometimes things won’t come off, but he’s trying things and he’s releasing himself, he’s all over the pitch, he wants to get on the ball and it was a brilliant, brilliant performance when you take into consideration he’s only trained for a week, the price tag and he’s still only 23.
“He’s won the league for the last four years and he’s been at a top club, let’s not forget that. If he keeps playing like that, like I said the price tag won’t be mentioned.”
Pogba’s display also earned glowing praise from manager Jose Mourinho.

When Men Put The Responsibility On Women – Relationship & Lifestyle Columnist Writes

A relationship and lifestyle writer who describes herself as a believer in the impossible, has penned an interesting piece on the trending topic among the youths.
Recently, I have been seeing quite a few posts regarding women and their responsibilities. Apparently for a man to succeed he needs a wife that is hardworking,
prayerful and can cook.
Now do not get me wrong, well aside for the fact that I can be controversial. I appreciate that it is fundamental for women to know how to cook, pray etc but it is not mandatory. Women for years have been groomed to deliver on the aforementioned attributes but we are now in 2016. There is more and should be more to women than a bunch of dictatorship that is placed on women, leaving room for more men to act like ‘douchbags’ excuse my French.
I do not dispute these are attributes that a women should embody but I also know too many women that prayed, cooked and become breadwinner and their ‘spouse’ still cheated, abandoned, abused etc their women. It does not end here.
What was shocking the most for me was a post that I saw on Facebook from a male championing this ideology and even went as far as insinuated the reason ‘women will remain single, is due to the aforementioned attributes’. Excuse me, that statement was not acceptable.
Let me start by saying, there is more, far more to us women than cooking, praying and working hard. We are exceptional at so many things. To subject and limit us to just cooking, praying and working hard is a massive shame. I also think ‘hard working or working hard’ has not been clarified? ‘I think what is meant by hard working in the statement are women that do everything and more for the household without requesting for help or simply told that it is your duty’.
Women have been doing these things and more for years but what is our recognition from men?
On the flip side, women that can cook, pray and work hard can also lack valuable traits such as respect, communication, consideration, empathy, initiative, prudence, confidence, leadership, mentorship, partnership, problem solving, integrity, generosity, creativity and so much more. So to limit a woman to just cooking, praying and hardworking, OH dear! Have you met women that pray, cook and are hardworking with no manners? That is story for the gods.
It is a massive shame that women are constantly subjected to conditional and unconditional advice. Men will now sit their behind down watching and looking at how a woman cooks, prays and works hard forgoing all other excellent attributes we posses and execute on daily basis. Wait, this will now reinforce their mini god attitude, implying that women are subject to the aforementioned. God forbid, the woman is sick, or has an accident and as a result is disabled….this may affect cooking, praying etc.
What happens then? He marries a new wife that cooks, prays and cares for his demands? For Christians, the Bible encourages men to love their wives as Christ loves the church. I guess she must be a cook, knows how to pray etc before you love her, I must have missed that part. Oh I know, the book of proverbs 31. I guess we missed the part ‘when the man should praise her’ or better still be an outstanding character fighting for the unjust and less privileged’. In essence, men should lead by example. Which I must admit is rare!
A man that thinks the aforementioned attributes are the only factors ‘we’ women are capable of exhibiting has no vision, character or ethos (please read on Joseph and AB.raham). You have forgotten to acknowledge the fact we are strong, courageous and in fact sacrificial on so many level. You deserve to be stagnant After all the Proverbs 25:24 ‘Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife’.
I am all for praying and desiring women that can a cook, pray and keep the home down but the need to subject women to centuries of dictatorship needs to STOP! Some men do not even listen or acknowledge their wives despite such attributes. They refuse to take on credible advice suggested to them. I think a man/woman that seeks for success will look for a partner that embodies like minded attributes. Trust me it is not limited to cooking etc, instead it is a bonus.
I believe the bashing should stop and more light should be shed on our communities, developing outstanding men and women to change our environment and destiny for good. Men should get rid off their myopic mindset and instead use their platform to encourage and uplift women and call out other men to STAND UP to their responsibilities. Both women and men have the responsibility to pray, cook and work hard amongst host of other key attributes. Let us be examples to the next generation. We all have a role to play on this planet and nobody is superior than the other.
It is funny how they say women should cook and pray. After all that is said and done, 90% of chefs are Men. 90% of pastors are men so can we stop putting pressure on women to be this and that.

Pastor Adelaja, Wife, Still In Joyous Mood

image

Ukraine based Nigerian Senior Pastor of one of Europe’s fastest growing churches and Ukraine’s biggest protestant church, Embassy of God, Sunday Adelaja, is still in celeB.ration mood.
The funky pastor, who was recently embroiled in a crisis with Ukraine authorities over his church and other allegations, which we gathered has remained the major reason for his planned relocation to Nigeria, celeB.rated his 22nd wedding anniversary days ago in his
Ukrainian base.
An elated Adelaja, while speaking on the success of his 22 years of marriage, said: “I would like to declare God’s goodness and faithfulness to me and my family as we celeB.rate our 22nd wedding anniversary this year.
“The Lord has seen us through these 22 years and the majority of it has been blissful. Truly, the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever!
“His blessings are innumerable and they should not be taken lightly or for granted. It is not by our own power or might, but His loving kindness towards us that we have made it this far.”

Beauty queen calls out pageant organisers over alleged fraud

Beauty queen Sandra Osamor, Miss Ideal Nigeria 2015 winner, has openly accused the organisers of the pageant, House of Twitch, of fraud.
According to Osamor, a graduate of Covenant University, Ota Ogun State, she was promised a trip abroad, a modelling contract with a popular Nigerian agency, N1m and free change of wardrobe for one whole year, and so far she has gotten nothing out of these.

Here’s what she said told GuardianNg:
“The pageant is a fraud and it should be investigated. The organisers, House of Twitch, make promises to unsuspecting contestants and don’t fulfill such promises. I won with hopes of benefits but got nothing.”
When GuardianNg reporter put a call through to Uchenna Victor, apparently the manager attached to Miss Osamor, he said he doesn’t want to speak on the issue. However, in a tweet on he posted on House of Twitch handle, he posted: “Michy tell her, if she want to fight me, she should be prepared spiritually too ooooo…u know nah.

Ayotunde, a director in House of Twitch, and one of the organisers called back this reporter back after a call was also put through to him. He affirmed some of the accusation but said that they are unfounded as Osamor signed a contract with the company but failed to keep to the terms of the agreement.

He said,
“As Miss ideal Nigeria, there are obligations associated with the office and this includes project execution but Sandra was not forth coming when she is needed. We have a runner-up, who was always ready, and we resorted to work with the runner-up.
“Each time she is called up for an event, she gives excuses with her job. She is on a paid employment and works from 8am to 5pm. This affected some of campaigns. At a point, she told us her stopped from attending events.”
On the allegation of posting some Osamor’s picture on the House of Twitch site, Ayotunde affirmed, saying that it was in a bid to have some throwbacks of her reign.
“She willingly gave and agreed we use the pictures. So, what is the fraud,”
Another member of the board in House of Twitch, Uncle Chris, had in a tweet on Thursday, posted:
“I have said we should leave all totally ignore her and her messages. Nobody should talk to her, leave them alone. Silent is power.”

S’South Govs Aware Of Jonathan’s Alleged Sponsorship Of Niger Delta Avengers – FG Official

Ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan
As the controversy about the alleged complicity of former President, Goodluck Jonathan in the activities of the Niger Delta militants, an official in the presidency gives more insight to the issue.
The revelation that former President Goodluck Jonathan or some people sympathetic to him are behind the spate of bombings being witnessed in the Niger Delta was first made at a meeting inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Saturday PUNCH has learnt. There have been media reports that the Presidency is in possession of security report allegedly linking Jonathan to the formation and activities of the Niger Delta Avengers. The intelligence report was said to have confirmed that oil installations were mined before the May 29, 2015 handover to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Although Jonathan had denied the allegation twice, a top government official, who spoke with our correspondent on Friday, confirmed that such report is currently available.
The source said the revelation was first made by “those who should know” at a meeting held in the seat of power some months back. He said the meeting was attended by some leaders from the South South, including state governors from the region. The meeting was called as part of efforts aimed at resolving the crisis.
The source said, “You know that leaders from the region, including the governors are also affected by the violence in the region.
“The situation is affecting their revenue and they cannot meet many of their obligations. So, they were also interested in finding a lasting solution to the matter.
“It was in one of such meetings called to find a solution that that revelation was made. It was confirmed that there was indeed Plan B and that those who held the view that Jonathan must continue as President by all means were shocked that he conceded victory to Buhari.”
The source, however, said only security agencies would be able to exonerate Jonathan at the end of the day.
When asked if Buhari had indeed directed security agencies to investigate Jonathan, the source said, “The President does not have to give such order before security agencies will know that with the allegations becoming more pronounced, especially from MEND, they need to investigate.
“For a fact, this President will not stop security agencies from investigating anybody, no matter how highly placed.
“It is also in the interest of the former President that the matter is thoroughly investigated. It is also in his interest to come out clean on the matter.
“We need to know whether he is personally involved in the plan or whether it was those sympathetic to him that hatched the plan.”

But the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike, in a telephone interview with our correspondent denied that such revelation was made at a meeting of South South leaders.
Describing the allegation as a “wicked lie”, Wike said, “There is no truth in that allegation. Those behind the allegation are suffering from acute malaria.
“Those who are spreading such a huge allegation against the former President will never know peace. They are liars.”
Also, the former President had in a statement on Thursday by his Media Aide, Ikechukwu Eze, denied the allegation, saying Jonathan’s enemies were jealous of his rising profile.

Finally, Randy Married Prophet Who Lures Congregants To A River For S*x Exposed (Photo)

The 28-year-old Chinhoyi prophet with the Johanne Masowe eChishanu
A s*x-crazed prophet who specializes in luring innocent women to a river in the name of cleansing them of evil spirits by forcefully having s*x with them has finally been exposed.
A horny prophet has been exposed as his trick of luring congregants to a river for cleansing before pouncing on them and forcefully having s*x with them has been exposed.

The 28-year-old Chinhoyi prophet with the Johanne Masowe eChishanu has been luring women to the river and having carnal knowledge of them, H-metro reports.

The man identified as Nesbert “Jaji” Chimulambe, who is married, is accused of using his position as a prophet in the church to indecently assault female congregants in the name of helping them.

One of the victims said Nesbert was helping her with her spiritual problems and told her to go to Hunyani River for cleansing and he allegedly followed her.

“He was helping me with prayers so he said I should go to the river for cleansing. I went there alone and when I got there I took off my clothes and started doing the ritual.

“I was startled when I saw him behind me. He then started to fo_ndle me and asked to sleep with me. I managed to escape from his grasp and went home.

“I reported what had transpired to one of the church elders. I have never stepped foot at their church again because I felt betrayed by a man I thought was helping me with my problems,” she said.

Another ‘victim’ is a married teenager.

“I am 17-years-old and I am married. I was having problems in my marriage and Madzibaba Nesbert was helping me. He said I was to be cleansed because I have an evil spirit in me.

“He took me to the river and stripped me. He then started to fo_ndle me. I then screamed and he got scared. I asked him what kind of a prayer that was and he apologised.

“I threatened to tell his wife of what he had done but he in turn threatened me saying if I told anyone about what had transpired he would ruin my marriage for me.

“I did not go to the police but I confided in one of the church prophets and told them what their fellow prophet had done to me.

“It is so disheartening because I thought I was going to get help but instead a man of God tried to force himself on me. I am sure he has not done this to me alone but many women have fallen prey to his actions,” she said.

It remains to be seen how the church will handle the matter.

“We punish prophets who are accused of such behavior by str!pp!ng them of their titles and forbidding them to be part of the church’s leadership. But it seems like it is not really helping as we are receiving many cases of indecent behaviour from prophets,” said a senior official

Taliban Seizes Khanabad In Afghanistan’s Kunduz

image

After days of heavy fighting, the Taliban has taken control of another of the five districts in the northern Afghan province of Kunduz, according to provincial authorities.
The fighters seized the district of Khanabad, which connects Kunduz to Takhar and other northern provinces, on Saturday morning
, with heavy clashes reported in several other districts.
“The Taliban attacked the district from different positions and we resisted for hours but we received no support. The district fell to the Taliban,” said Hayatullah Amiri, the Khanabad chief.
The Taliban has intensified its attacks in Kunduz and also carried out attacks on other key districts in the province in the past weeks.
“The reports that I have by talking to people in Kunduz is that the district fell into the hands of the Taliban without any combat or conflict,” Habib Wardak, who campaigns for good governance, told Al Jazeera from Kabul.
“It looks like the capture of the district Khanabad will have severe repercussions on the socio-economic, political and security situation not just in Kunduz but the entire northern part of the country.”
The fall of Khanabad comes only five days after the Taliban captured a district in neighbouring Baghlan province, seizing a number of government forces’ vehicles and ammunition.
The fighters launched a coordinated attack on Dahana-e-Ghori on August 12, leading to heavy clashes in the area until the fighters took control of the district on August 15.
Fighting has escalated in Afghanistan as the Taliban campaign spreads from its traditional strongholds in the south and east of the country to once peaceful regions in the north.
Political crisis
The security problems facing Afghanistan are being compounded by a growing political crisis within the Kabul government.
Abdullah Abdullah, Afghanistan’s chief executive, recently criticised President Ashraf Ghani for failing to work collaboratively and deemed him undeserving to serve the government.
Despite air support from US and Afghan warplanes, government troops are struggling against the Taliban, with senior government officials saying the fighters are becoming better trained and equipped.
“It seems like the m0rale of the Afghan national security forces is quite low in Kunduz province. There is a lot of political disagreement among our political leaders in Kabul and this is having a severe impact on our forces on the ground,” Wardak, the activist, told Al Jazeera.
“It looks like the government is yet to get its act together and fight effectively against the Taliban. The only thing that offers hope to the Afghan security forces is the commitment of the international community, with a lot of aid and support coming from the US military.”
Taliban strongholds
The provincial capital, Kunduz, fell to the Taliban for the first time in September last year, one of the biggest victories for the fighters since they were toppled from power by US and coalition forces in late 2001.
Fighting has also escalated in other Afghanistan provinces.
Major Taliban offences have taken place in neighbouring Baghlan province, as well as in the southern province of Helmand, where the Taliban has encircled the capital, Lashkar Gah.
The Taliban government collapsed after the US invasion of 2001; since then the group’s control over parts of Afghanistan has fluctuated wildly.
NATO officially ended its combat mission in December 2014, but US forces were granted greater powers in June this year to strike at the Taliban as President Barack Obama pledged a more aggressive campaign.

"God told me to whip them openly" says Pastor who beat 2 church members for fornication and attempted abortion

Bishop Daniel Obinim has broken his silence over a video which shows him beating two members of his church for fornicating and attempting abortion.
The founder and leader of the International Godsway Church said that he was forced to discipline the two after God revealed to him in a vision during prophecy time in his church that the two had not only been engaging in amorous acts but also tried without
success to abort a pregnancy which resulted from that.
In the video that has gone viral on social media, Angel Obinim as he calls himself is seen beating 16-year-old Illiasu and a young girl, Gyasiwaa,14, for having sex. Calls have been made from persons and groups for the arrest of the man of God for abusing the right of the two teenagers.

According to Bishop Obinim, the two who are his adopted children have been staying with him for up to eight years and he had been in charge of their upkeep all these years. He told Adom FM’s Kofi Adomah in an exclusive interview that the male, Illiasu has been staying with him since he was eight after his father died while Gyasiwaa has also been staying with him for the past four years. He was forced to take the lady out of school to learn a vocation (makeup) after she told him that he cannot continue with school.

The male on the hand, is still in school and "last week, I even paid his fees of up to GHC76million so he could still be in school." He said he wasn't aware of the amorous relationship between the two due to the nature of his work. He found out for the first time during church service last Wednesday.

"Due to the nature of my work and that of my wife who has also been producing a TV show, we have not been staying at home and hence are unaware of the relationship between them, all I do as a man is to just provide the necessary money for their upkeep…," he said.

"It was during church service that God opened my eyes and I saw that something like that had occurred, so I asked the lady and she said it was true. I was perplexed and queried further to know that if it is true that she is pregnant, and she said that it was true. So I called the boy and asked him, he also confirmed…if God had not revealed this to me I wouldn’t have known that something of that sort was happening…," he added.

Bishop Obinim said he was forced to whip the two because the lady had attempted unsuccessfully to abort the pregnancy.

"The fact that the lady had attempted to abort the pregnancy caused me to discipline them…that is what caused me to quote Proverbs 3:24 which states that: ‘Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them,’ before whipping them…," he said.

Angel Obinim added that he is shocked at the reaction of Ghanaians who are calling for his arrest especially as the "same people would accuse me of killing her for ritual purposes if she dies through the attempt at aborting a pregnancy"

"I disciplined them as I would do to my own child…," he said, adding that he would not allow the pregnant lady to commit abortion.

"As I speak the two children are still staying with me but I don’t know what to do, I don’t know whether I should sack them or not, their parents are here begging me but I still don’t know what to do because as a Pastor I won’t permit the lady to abort the pregnancy…," he said.

Bishop Obinim also described persons and groups who are calling for his arrest and punishment as ones who are not ‘more sensible than God’. God would not have showed the vision of their amorous act in public if he did not want him to punish them openly, he insisted.
