”I Have Nine Years Before Reaching Menopause” – Halima Abubakar

Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar, has lashed out at all the Nigerians, doubting Thomases who criticized her the last time she revealed she was looking forward to losing her ‘V!rg!n!ty’ and having kids.
She had been mocked that if she is not getting married, she should go and get kids because menopause is approaching. Halima is firing back
saying:

What kind of thing is that? Is it your menopause?  I still have about nine years before I hit menopause all things being equal.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Abubakar  was unapologetic about her hugely controversial claim of being ‘a virgin’. Read what she told SS below:

“Why would people become annoyed because I said I am a virgin? Just because I’m in the industry does not mean I am badly behaved. Not everyone is sexually active. You can have a boyfriend and not be sexually active.
The reaction I got shows the mentality of the people. If I say I’m a virgin, I am and if I say I am not, then I am not. They tell me to go get married, should I go after  someone else’s  husband?
“Everybody thinks one should get married from age 18. A lot of marriages are complicated. Marriage will come when it will come, one doesn’t need to force it.
People are getting divorced with pregnancies because they got married under pressure. We should let people be. People are saying if you are not getting married, go and get kids because menopause is approaching. What kind of thing is that? Is it your menopause?  I still have about nine years before I hit menopause all things being equal.
I am not one of those people that will kill themselves because of marriage. I can’t have kids outside marriage

Rooney Expects More Magic From Ibrahimovic After Goal

image

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is expecting “many more” moments of magic from Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Swedish striker scored an acrobatic effort in the fourth minute of his debut for the club during a 5-2 win against Galatasaray in Gothenburg.
Rooney, who scored two second-half goals for United to overturn a 2-1 half-time deficit, also said that Ibrahimovic has been getting on with his teammates and brings an “aura” with him.
The England player said: “It was a great goal from him. It was good for the team. He’s a fantastic
player, he showed what he is capable of doing, and I am sure there will be many more moments like that from him.”
English audiences are aware of Ibrahimovic’s ability to perform acrobatics, after his stunning goal for Sweden in their 4-2 win against England at Stockholm in November 2012.
Rooney added: “I didn’t play [in the Stockholm game] thankfully. It’s exactly what we need. We have seen him do special things throughout his career and I am sure he will do that for us this season.
“He is a great signing for us, [has] a lot of experience. He’s been a successful player wherever he has been and hopefully he will be for us as well.
“He’s a nice fella, a normal guy. He gets on well with everyone. He is good to have around the dressing room and certainly will be good to have on the pitch with the aura he brings with him.”
Rooney started the game against Galatasaray in the No. 10 role but struggled during the first half. Mourinho has told Rooney that he sees him as a No. 10 this season, the Englishman confirmed.
All four of United’s attacking players were substituted at half-time apart from Rooney — with Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Anthony Martial all being taken off.
The former Everton striker said that it was always part of manager Mourinho’s plan to give him more than 45 minutes, saying: “It’s always tough in your first game back to get back into it.”
He added: “The plan was always to stay on into the second half. The important thing is minutes. Of course you want to win, but the important thing is getting fit for the start of the season so that was the plan.
“The lads who came off at half-time haven’t been back as long as we have so that’s why they came off.”
Marcus Rashford was one of the players who was brought on at half-time and he was impressive again. The 18-year-old won the penalty which Rooney converted to give United a 3-2 lead.
Rooney said: “His movement was great. He causes problems for defenders with his pace. He played really well when he came on. He’ll be a real asset for us this season.”

Do you Just want to be Friends and still sleep with each other? 10 Rules For Being Friends With Benefits

couple talking cuddle

Let’s face it – relationships can be complicated. Sometimes, all you want is someone who will come over and keep your bed warm for a little bit while you continue rocking it at work and hunting for your true soul mate. The whole dating game can get exhausting after a while, so every now and then, it’s nice to have Mr. or Miss Right Now, a trusty acquaintance you can rely on to come over and keep you entertained. Yeah – we’re talking about friends with benefits.

Now, everyone on Earth has an opinion about the whole FWB arrangement. Some people absolutely love it, while others say it just can’t be done without someone getting hurt. It’s even a topic for countless movies – who can forget the gorgeous Mila Kunis and the dreamy Justin Timberlake entering into a FWB deal and then falling for one another in the aptly titled Friends With Benefits? It’s become a cultural phenomenon, and it’s not going away anytime soon.
So, you’ve decided to give the ol’ FWB a try? You’ve found your attractive “friend” who will comply? While this type of arrangement is designed to give you more freedom to do things you want, there are a couple rules that you need to follow in order to make sure everyone involved is happy and having a good time.
Here are 10 rules for being friends with benefits.

10. Keep It Out of Your Neighbourhood

neigho
At first, becoming friends with benefits with someone who lives on your block – or even in your building – seems super convenient. They’re literally a minute or two away, you won’t have to trek 30 minutes home after a hook up, and you can happily indulge in a few drinks while you’re hanging out without the worry of having to drive home. However, intimacy is basically the enemy of any FWB situation, and being so close forces a kind of intimacy. You very well might run into him or her on your morning coffee run, you’ll see their car parked, you’ll overhear their party and wonder why you weren’t invited. It’s just a recipe for disaster. Keep it at least a couple blocks away, for your own sanity.

9. Keep Them Separate From Other Friends

couple friends party
A friend with benefits is someone who is supposed to be temporary, a fun way to occupy your time for a short period before you find someone you want to actually date. So, why on earth would you bring them into your daily routine? Before you know it, friends are inviting you places together, you’re always bumping into each other at the same parties, and your lives will eventually become so entangled you’ll start to wonder why you’re not just dating already. You’re not dating because you didn’t view them as a real option for a partner at the beginning – it’s just your silly insistence on bringing them into your social circles that has clouded your vision. Keep your friend with benefits away from your regular crew.

8. Keep Things In The Bedroom

cheating couple
At the beginning of every FWB situation, it’s basically just a series of booty calls – someone comes over to the other person’s house for a little loving, everyone is satisfied, and everyone spends the night at his or her own apartment. You don’t want your FWB tidying up your kitchen and making you breakfast in the morning. You don’t want to meet them for coffee at that cute little café near your apartment where you take all your dates. Just say no. Once you start venturing outside of the bedroom, things start to get a lot more relationship-like, so unless that’s where you want to take things, keep it physical and between the sheets.

7. Keep Things Safe

couple cuddle
No, we’re not talking about bizarre injuries caused by trying that weird kama sutra position one night. We’re talking about protection. Sure, your FWB probably isn’t a stranger – hence the term friends with benefits. However, they’re also usually not your best friend in the world, so you won’t know every detail of their lives. You don’t know what kind of relationships they’ve had beforehand, and how careful they are with their health, so please – make sure everyone is safe and protected. You know the old ‘90s saying – no glove, no love. Still applies today, especially in a FWB situation.

6. Tell Them What You Want

couple talking cuddle
The whole point of having a FWB is to scratch that itch with incredibly sex. Yes, you should always be honest in real relationships about what you like in the bedroom, but when it comes to FWB, there should be absolutely nothing you’re holding back. They’re there to satisfy you – tell them exactly how to do that. It might hurt your potential partner’s feelings if you tell them you don’t like a particular move they do, or that their signature move doesn’t exactly accomplish what they think it does. A FWB, however, should just be relieved they’re finding out how to satisfy you more quickly. Be honest – it’s a win win.

5. Absolutely No Sleepovers

couple waking up bed
It’s the whole intimacy conundrum all over again. When you cuddle with someone you’re attracted to, that silly brain starts to release a lot of feel-good feelings and starts to bond with the warm body on the other side of that snuggle. If you’re spooning every night you’re together, you’re going to get emotionally attached to your FWB very, very quickly, simply because it’s an intimate thing generally reserved for couples. So, even if the bed seems cozy and it’s cold outside, drag your butt out of bed and march back to your own place – or send your FWB packing to his or her own place. Trust us – you don’t want to open that can of worms.

4. Check Your Jealousy

couple jealous
Your FWB is not your girlfriend or boyfriend. He or she is not someone you’re dating exclusively. Therefore, whatever your FWB wants to do in his or her own time is completely up to them. If he wants to be on Tinder? Fine. If she wants to friend every cute guy she meets on Facebook? Fine. If he wants to buy a girl a drink at the bar, if she wants to dance with a cute guy at the club? Fine! A FWB is entitled to do whatever they want to do, and you’re not allowed to get jealous. That emotion is reserved for significant others only.

3. Check Your Expectations

expectations
Okay, let’s just keep things real here. An FWB isn’t going to take you out to that cute French bistro you’ve been dying to try. An FWB isn’t going to buy you flowers on a random weekday just because he was thinking about you. An FWB isn’t going to buy you a present to commemorate a specific date. It’s about physical things, not thoughtful gestures. Sure, you should still feel respected by your FWB – you definitely shouldn’t put up with being treated poorly by anyone. However, don’t expect them to wine and dine you – that’s just not their job.

2. Keep Your Eyes Open

couple laughing
It’s easy to get a little too comfortable with your FWB. Maybe you’re tired of getting all glammed up on a series of unsuccessful first dates, and you decide to take a few months off and just satisfy any urges with your FWB. However, making your FWB the only man (or woman) in your life is basically like taking yourself off the market. At some point, you’ll want something more than a FWB, and if you haven’t been out there looking, you’ll find yourself out of luck. So keep going on those first dates, keep chatting up that cutie at your local pub, and keep your eyes open for the perfect man or woman.

1. Don’t Let Things Get Unbalanced

couple looking
When it comes to FWB, it can be tricky terrain. After all, there are two people in the casual relationship, and things only work out if everyone involved is on the same page. If you discover along the way that your FWB is really perfect for you and want to turn things into a real relationship? Great – how awesome that you found your perfect partner. If you’re both happy with the casual benefits of the scenario, that’s fantastic. Problems arise when one person thinks things are casual and the other person is expecting it to turn into something more. Make sure everyone is on the same page at all times or you’ll have some heartbreak on your hands.

The Dream Team VI are set to light up the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil as they begin their quest for gold at the multi-nation tournament.
The national U-23 team are pegged alongside Japan, Sweden and Colombia in Group B which many feel Nigeria should qualify from because they have bragging rights in football terms.
There is no doubt that Mikel Obi is the most decorated player
in the present crop of players that will feature at the Games however, the nation has never lacked talents who can take on the rest of the world.
NAIJ.com takes a look at five players who will shine at the Rio Olympics:
1. Daniel Akpeyi: It was no surprise that Samson Siasia extended a call-up to the Chippa United shot stopper as his presence in the goal mouth for young lads will boost the confidence of defenders. He has two caps to his name in the senior national team.
AkpeyiDaniel Akpeyi
Akpeyi is no stranger to youth tournaments as he was a member of the team that featured at the 2005 World Youth Championships in Netherlands and also at the 2008 Beijing Olympics where Nigeria won silver.
2. Sadiq Umar: The 19-year-old has continued his rise to the level of being a world class player with sterling performances for his Serie B club Spezia before going on loan to Serie A side Roma.
sadiq umar
Umar was selected by Siasia in the 35-man provisional team to the Olympics and the striker did not fail to impress as he made the final 18-man cut. All eyes will be on the striker when he plays his first international game for Nigeria.
3. Oghenekaro Etebo: Etebor is one player that has been with this squad right from the qualifiers to the U-23 CAF Nations Cup and now the Rio Olympics. The team’s top scorer has been a pace-setter in the team. His power playing style will be a handful for defenders at the Rio Games.
Etebo Oghenekaro
Etebo Oghenekaro

The 20-year-old was named Most Valuable Player at the CAF tournament with five goals after which he registered his first goal for the Super Eagles against Egypt in an AFCON qualifier played at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kaduna.
4. Okechukwu Azubuike: The Yeni Malatyaspor midfielder has captained the team all through their qualifying campaign because of his leadership qualities and his influence in the midfield.
Azubuike Okechukwu
Azubuike admitted the team’s poor performance at the Suwon tournament as he took responsibility for their sloppiness after coming third in the four-nation tourney.
He said: “I am very concerned and it’s the same with the other players and we have been holding meetings on how we can improve” and this a trait of true leadership.
5. William Ekong: With six appearances for the Super Eagles, the 22-year-old was given the chance to represent Nigeria because of his composure and consistency in defence for both club and country.
Troost Ekong
Though the Gent defender is another new entry into the squad, Siasia believes his experience playing for the Dutch U-19 and U-20 national teams as well as briefs spells in England and the Eredivisie, could be a key factor when the Dream Team VI come up against tough competitors at the Games.

6 Great Ways To Surprise A Nigerian Wife or Girlfriend

nigerian-wife
Surprises are the best, which is why everyone loves them…especially Nigerian women! Little bits of surprises tell the person that they are worth a little bit of planning and show that you care. The surprise does not have to mark a holiday or her birthday, it also It doesn’t have to be too big or expensive as Nigerian women are not essentially materialistic. It should come from the heart.
If you are in Nigeria or you are currently married to a Nigerian wife, Jovago shares a few ideas
to help you surprise the love of your life and not break the bank.

Give her a “just because” gift
You live with her, you know what she likes and most of all, you must have heard her expressed a desire for a particular thing that she is unable to get for herself. Get her a gift out of the blues! It could be the thing she wanted or just something you know she needs, like a new pair of sunglasses she has not yet picked up since breaking her last pair, or something you know she will enjoy like ice cream cake from cold stone creamery. Nigerian women like to know that their husband listens to them and think about them when they are apart. Buying her something on your own, for no particular reason proves that.

Bring her Lunch at work
No need to feel alarmed, you do not necessarily have to cook the lunch. You can just stop by her favorite restaurant and buy her favorite food or get something she has been craving for a while. It all will take very little time to execute and deliver. You can decide to also move you break time so that you can take you lunch break with her. It may be a small surprise, but it would make a difference in her day. She will surely love the opportunity to post a picture of such a romantic deed by her husband on Instagram or upload the story on Snapchat.

nigerian-wife3
Give her public praise
Nigerian women generally like to be acclaimed and appreciated publicly. Just as sending lunch to her workplace will build her self-esteem and help her see you in a softer light. Praising her in public, like getting a radio station to dedicate a song to her or posting a love letter on her Facebook wall will do the same, especially when she hears others commending your actions or repeating your words back to her.
Plan a weekend getaway
You can never go wrong with a weekend get-away. Even if you cannot afford to take her to a 5-star hotel, if you are in Lagos or Abuja, or one of the exotic destinations within the country like Tinapa or Obudu resorts, the mere fact that you thought to spend alone time with her is enough to get her heart flipping. You can book a budget hotel, a low maintenance way to experience the benefits of time away without emptying your bank account. The key thing is to lavish her with a romantic evening and a leisurely breakfast and let someone else do all the chores for those days. If want to add more fun to the getaway, you could decide to camp together on a rock at Ogun state or Jos or go on a long weekend road trip together. She will be thrilled by the prospect.
nigerian-wife2

Buy her a ticket to Nigeria
This surprise only works if you do not live in Nigeria. Every Nigerian wife will not forgo any opportunity to visit her home country if she is living abroad. Nigerian women generally love family and the idea of going “home”, so giving her a ticket to go where her heart is, ensure that she falls in love with you all over again, giving you the all the keys to her heart. Even better is buying a ticket for yourself as well, so that you can accompany her, cutting out any secret fear she might have that the ticket is a trick to push her away from you for a while.

Get her favorite Nigerian celebrity to call her
This will not only surprise her but will thrill her as well. Track down her favourite Nigerian celebrity and make an arrangement for them to either call her or pay her a surprise visit. While some celebrities will require a small fee to take part in the surprise scheme, some would gladly do it as a favour. Ensure the message the celebrity sends to her reveals that the call was your idea, that way she knows that you would go out of your way to put a smile on her face.

Former NFL player Antonio Armstrong and wife shot dead by 16-year-old son

The teenage son of former NFL player and Miami Dolphins linebacker has been charged with murdering his parents at their home in Houston, Texas.
The 16-year-old was charged as a juvenile andis being questioned by investigators in connection with the deaths of Antonio and Dawn Armstrong, NBC reports.

Armstrong, 42,  who spent a season as a linebacker with the Miami Dolphins, and his wife Dawn were both shot in the early hours of Friday morning. Ms Armstrong died at the scene, while her husband was later pronounced dead at the city’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, having suffered a gunshot wound to his head
Three of the couple’s children were in the house at the time of the shooting, police said, including a 20-year-old son and a teenage daughter, neither of whom were hurt. The suspect called 911 at around 1.30am, shortly after the shooting occurred. His name has not been released because of age.

Police said they did not believe there was any history of domestic abuse in the family. Houston police homicide investigator Jimmy Dodson told KPRC that the Armstrongs were "an outstanding family" adding that Mr Armstrong was an associate pastor at a local church. "He's a great guy. The mother was apparently a great mother, according to family members," Mr Dodson said. "It was kind of the all-American family."
Mr Armstrong had been a college football star at Texas A&M University, and was named an All-American in his senior season as a linebacker for the A&M Aggies. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL Draft but fractured an ankle in training and was released later that year, signing with the Dolphins, for whom he played four games.
A motivational speaker and fitness trainer, he and his wife owned a chain of three gyms called First Class Training in the Houston area. Former A&M head coach RC Slocum said in a statement:
"Antonio was a special young man. He was an all-American and an outstanding player, but he was an even better person. He was such a positive influence on his teammates. He always had a great big smile and a joy to coach"

Watch: Elderly Afghan cleric arrested after marrying a six-year-old girl, claims she was a 'religious offering'

An elderly Afghan cleric has been arrested after he married a six-year-old girl, officials said Friday,July 30, in the latest case highlighting the scourge of child marriages in the Muslim country.
Mohammad Karim, said to around 60, who was being held in the central province of Ghor province, claimed her parents gave him the girl as a "religious offering".
But officials cited the girl’s family on Friday as saying that she was abducted from the western province of Herat.
"This girl does not speak, but repeats only one thing: ‘I am afraid of this man’," said Masoom Anwari, head of the women affairs department in Ghor.
The girl is currently in a woman’s shelter in Ghor and her parents are on their way to the province to collect her, the local governor’s office said.
"Karim has been jailed and our investigation is ongoing," said Abdul Hai Khatibi, the governor’s spokesman. The incidents highlight rising cases of child marriages in Afghanistan.
"In some regions because of insecurity and poverty the families marry off their daughters at a very early age to get rid of them," said Sima Samar, head of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission.
Afghan civil law sets the legal age of marriage at 16 for girls, yet 15 per cent of Afghan women under 50 were married before their 15th birthday and almost half were married before the age of 18.
"So many children who are married off at a young age are deprived of their right to education, safety and the ability to make choices about their future," the charity said.
"This is such a fundamental breach of a child’s basic right." Samar added.

I am confident EFCC and ICPC will effect the arrest of Speaker Dogara- Jibrin

Sacked Chairman of House of Representatives committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has released another statement. Read below...
"Yesterday we recorded huge success in our mission to get the Corrupt Speaker of the House Yakubu Dogara and his cohorts to face prosecution. On the request of my lawyers, the security agencies have promptly protected the appropriation secretariat, my office and house. Our petition to the EFCC and ICPC against Speaker Dogara, Lasun, Doguwa, Ogor and eight other members have been dispatched yesterday.
The case against them ranges from corrupt enrichment, abuse of office&public trust, living above means, massive movement of funds in budget. The members are Speaker Yakubu Dogara, Deputy Speaker Yusuf Lasun, Whip Alhassan Doguwa and Minority Leader Leo Ogor. Others include, chairman FCT Hon Herma Hembe, Chairman higher education Hon Zakari Mohammed, chairman health Hon Chike Okafor Chairman power Hon Dan Asuquo, Chairman marine transport Hon mohammed Bago, Chairman Police Hon Haliru Jika, Chairman interior Hon Jagaba Adams Jagaba and Chairman House services Hon Babanle Ila This is a defining moment in the struggle to cleanse the House, first time a member will drag 12 of his colleagues to the anti graft agencies.
This has opened a rare opportunity for the anti corruption agencies to decisively use this as a case study to send powerful signal. I also responded to another show of shame by 9 out of the 40member appropriation committee that addressed the press yesterday. They shamelessly allow themselves to be used after collecting $20,000 dollars each disbursed by DCOS to Speaker Hon CID Maduabum. Read my full response on both my private and public Facebook pages with documents published on different platforms including 111 projects demanded by my Deputy Hon Chris Azubogu. Speaker Dogara has resorted to blame of so called external forces, are those forces responsible for moving FG projects to his farm?and the 11 others to commence prosecution in earnest. I will share with you the contents of my petition to the EFCC and ICPC in due course and shall return with more shocking revelations.

Secondary School Student In Namibia Allegedly Invents Phone That Make Calls Free Of Charge

In this extraordinary story, a Namibian student has invented a sim-less phone that does not need airtime to make calls.
A Grade 12 learner in Namibia has invented a phone that doesn’t need airtime to make calls. The schoolboy in the country’s Ohagwena Region came up with a sim-less mobile phone that does not require airtime to make calls to solve the country’s problem.

The boy identified as Simon Petrus, a pupil at Abraham Iyambo Senior Secondary School created the phone using spares from a phone and television set, New Era reports.
The phone is complete with a light bulb, fan and charger socket, the handset functions off power supplied through a radiator and is able to make calls to anywhere through the use of radio frequencies.
The invention, which is made up of a radio system, is attached to a box and also allows the user to view one TV channel on it.
Petrus is reported to have won a gold medal at national level last year for his invention of a two-in-one machine that that works as both a seed drier and cooler.
His invention of two years has been highly sponsored by his unemployed parents, the schoolboy admitted and he hopes the invention would be successful and be able to be carried further.
The development marks the latest in a series of innovative projects by students within the southern African nation.
Joshua Nghaamwa, a self-taught inventor, is reported to have created a satellite using parts from radios, cellphones and other electronics, The Namibian reports.
The satellite, believed to strengthen internet connectivity, is small enough to fit in a laptop bag and has a USB port that allows it to be connected to a modem, router or cellphone, increasing internet speed and allows for a better online experience.
Nghaamwa says he wants to introduce the device throughout the African market, so as to boost ICT on the continent

OMG!!! See shocking pictures inside world's most crowded prison where THIRTY convicts share each cell

Hehehe...You will think it's only Nigeria that has this kind of prisons.

These are the jaw-dropping images that expose the brutal life endured by prisoners in Manila quezon City prison was built for 800... but it now houses 3,800 inmates.
Located in the capital city of the Philippines, the living conditions are so harsh that some prisoners do not even have enough space to sleep on the floor.
Instead, prisoners are forced to take turns to lie down.
One prisoner - Raymund Narag - was 20 when he was sent to the jail after being convicted of murdering a young man.

He served seven years in the prison, and have since spoken out about the conditions there.

Mr Narag claims he shared one cell with 30 others, living on a diet of dried fish.

Speaking of life behind bars, he has previously said: "I saw firsthand the intricacies of managing a crowded, underfunded, undermanned prison institution."
